MRA Advocacy

Advocacy on behalf of restaurants

The Massachusetts Restaurant Association promotes and protects industry interests and practices through aggressive lobbying, monitoring the legislative process, initiating grassroots campaigns, boosting political action committees and fighting for policies that support the restaurant industry at all levels of government.

The MRA is also actively engaged in legislative efforts not specific to the food and beverage industry: ranging from economic development measures to general business issues, such as taxes, healthcare, employment and workplace regulations.

By eliminating damaging public policy before it becomes law, our team’s ongoing efforts have already saved the restaurant industry hundreds of millions of dollars. High labor costs, increased exposure to liability and low profit margins in a highly competitive environment leave restaurateurs particularly vulnerable to bad public policy.

With 4 registered lobbyists advocating for the industry, MRA’s grassroots advocacy efforts are unmatched in representing your interests on Beacon Hill. We continue to ensure that Massachusetts food and beverage operators have an active voice in legislation., MRA’s grassroots advocacy efforts are unmatched in representing your interests on Beacon Hill. • \Sharing your story with elected officials to help them understand how the policy they create affects restaurateurs.
  • \Using your voice to influence changes in the restaurant community.
